Weddings in Vieques has decided to open up two additional internship positions THIS SUMMER for new grads looking for an amazing opportunity. Applications must be submitted no later than midnight on Monday, May 27th (Memorial Day) and hiring decisions will be made by the first week of June. Both positions are fantastic opportunities that could potentially lead to long-term employment based on your success in the position. See the details for each opening below!
Internship #1 – This is a wedding planning internship that will teach you how to plan a wedding from bottom to top, and give you hands on experience working with clients, executing events, supervising décor, making floral arrangements and generally learning everything about how the business works.
All candidates should be recent college graduates with raging ambition, boundless energy, attention to detail, outgoing personalities and a tremendous desire to learn at a fast-paced and quickly-growing Caribbean destination wedding planning company. It’s a serious internship with a lot of hours, but successful candidates leave the island with the ability to plan all different kinds of events under the most complicated circumstances. If you learn how to plan a destination wedding on Vieques Island, you can pretty much plan a wedding anywhere!
Internship #2 – This is a small business web design internship position for a qualified webmaster who can give the company’s website a new look, create new websites for sister companies, and help create an integrated e-commerce plan for a company with a zillion possibilities.
The ideal candidate will have basic IT knowledge and be able to assist with technology hardware transitions in the office, experience creating websites, e-commerce strategies knowledge and proficiency in all areas of web design. Please send examples of sites you have created with your resume.
Housing is provided for the duration of your internship, and there is a small stipend associated as well (amount dependent on length of internship). Interns are responsible for their own transportation to/from Vieques Island and should not plan on working additional jobs during the internship as the hours can be long and unpredictable. Start/finish dates are somewhat flexible.
This is a serious internship located on a beautiful tropical island. We have decided to expand our program based on our current client load but we are only looking to add the best and the brightest to our team. Please email email@example.com with a cover letter explaining why you are an excellent intern candidate, your resume, and professional references. If you have previously applied and wish to be considered again, please resend with a new cover letter and your resume will be reviewed again with all the applicants.
Good luck! We look forward to your interview!
