She’s Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack — Guest Blog — Alissa the Intern Returns for a Second Summer Internship at Wedding in Vieques

I would like to begin by saying that I am incredibly jealous of my friends in Vieques this time of year.  I don’t like to remind myself that they are laying out at the beach while I’m buried under the snow here in Nebraska finishing college.

With that said, I am excited to announce that I will be back in Vieques over spring break to work at our much anticipated St. Patrick’s Day wedding.  I will be dressed up and playing the role of the leprechaun for this event.  It should be a fabulous event, and I am really looking forward to it!

Weddings in Vieques is also very excited to announce that Noelle Martinez, who studies at Colorado State University, will be joining our crew for an internship this summer.  Noelle found out about Weddings in Vieques through her aunt who had a beautiful elopement on the island last summer.  Noelle is very enthusiastic about this opportunity, and we can’t wait to welcome her to the team!

I will be returning for another summer with Weddings in Vieques as well.  By now I’m starting to feel like Vieques is my second home, and I can’t wait to spend another summer on one of the most beautiful islands in the world while helping to make dream weddings come true!  Unfortunately, for the rest of you that means there are no more openings for summer internships with Weddings in Vieques.  You can go ahead and apply for fall or winter now, but just be specific on your cover letter about what time frame you’re applying for.

For anyone interested in a fall or winter internship position with Weddings in Vieques, please send your cover letters and resumes to Sandy Malone at  This internship is an amazing opportunity to gain valuable work experience, to broaden your cultural awareness, and to learn the ins and outs of destination wedding planning, among other things.  Don’t let such a unique opportunity pass you by!

Until next time, happy wedding planning and stay warm (to all of you who aren’t soaking up the sun in Vieques right now)!
