This couple actually planned a destination wedding their parents couldn’t afford to attend, and then asked other people to pay their airfare!

You just never know what might happen when a public relations agency sends me a pitch – if it’s a stupendously bad idea (like crowdfunding a wedding, for example), I might actually write about it. But not the way they were hoping I would. Weddings have been commercialized to the point where most basic manners and etiquette are totally out the window. But I absolutely, positively, draw the line at asking the people you’re going to invite to your wedding to help you pay for it.
