Happy 4th Birthday Weddings in Vieques!!!

Hola Brides and Grooms!

I can’t believe it has been another year already — wow!  It just flew by like nothing.  And considering everything we went through last year, this has been a very, very good year!!!  Four years ago today, our first clients — Lynn and Brian Beisel —  were married on Sun Bay.  They are still happily married and have a beautiful little boy.  We see them whenever we’re up in the DC area visiting and it’s a constant reminder of why we’ve chosen to do this for a living — what we do makes people happy!

Every once in awhile, I think back to what it was like when we first started this company.  I can’t believe we survived two years of running it out of our house.  We used to prep plastic tubs of materials for all of the events down a long hallway in our house.  For three days before a wedding, we’d have to crabwalk sideways past certain oversized tubs.  The number of stubbed toes alone was criminal.  And forget having houseguests — if we had a wedding a couple weeks before or after you were coming to visit, you weren’t invited!  The guest room was our storage area, organizing area, prep area, and more.  When we did have guests, we’d move all the crap into our room til they left.

All of the big stuff was stored in a series of Conex boxes over at the Nales hardware store.  First we had a short container.  Then a big container.  Then a big container and a short container.  Right around then, we realized that we had to get office space!  Besides, prepping for a wedding at the boxes in the summer was a miserably hot project and nobody ever wanted to do it.  Wow, looking back on it, I don’t know how we ever functioned without an office.

Congratulations and thank you to all of our employees, vendors, and clients — you make it possible for us to do what we do and without you, we wouldn’t be here.  May this next year be even better for all of us!

Until next time, happy wedding planning from Weddings in Vieques and Weddings in Culebra!

Sandy
