The Destination Wedding Nativity Calendar — Daily Nuggets of Wisdom for Brides during the Holiday Season
Happy December Everybody!
When you were a little kid, did your parents ever get you one of those chocolate nativity calendars? You know the kind with candy behind every door? And as the youngest of four kids, I had to guard my calendar carefully or my older brother would steal candy from my future days and then act all innocent when we opened them up after dinner each night and occasionally mine was empty. Hmmm… Anyway, today is the first day of December and that has inspired me to do something similar. Instead of chocolate nuggets, I’m going to use this forum to impart 24 nuggets of destination wedding wisdom. I know, I know — you’re thinking I’ll never manage to write every day — but let’s see how I do! “Nugget” implies tiny little valuable pieces — not the novellas I’m prone to writing. So let’s have at it — the 24 Wedding Tips Nativity Calendar.
December 1st Wedding Tip!
Ladies, ’tis the season to get engaged. December through Valentine’s Day is when most guys get brave enough to pop the question. Now, in my humble opinion, I think it’s cheating to use the engagement ring in lieu of a “real” Christmas present, but I know plenty of young ladies who would much, much rather have that ring than anything Santa shoved down the chimney. So with that in mind, is it possible you’re going to see a ring sometime later this month?
Bill proposed to me on December 20th. Far enough before Christmas so that it didn’t seem like an overlap, but close enough that I got to show off my bling at all the Christmas and New Year’s parties. Totally worth it. And this is what leads me to today’s tip — go get a manicure!!! Stop biting your nails or chewing your cuticles. Don’t pick at your fingers during long, boring meetings. Don’t casually wear anything on that left ring finger. Use hand lotion to avoid that scaly look. Don’t run around with chipped nail polish. If you think there’s even the slightest chance in the entire world that Mr. Right is going to get down on one knee this month, don’t risk being caught unprepared!
Until tomorrow, happy wedding planning from Weddings in Vieques and Weddings in Culebra! Have you thought about getting married in the Caribbean?
