July 25th, 2008 Sandy Malone

Hi there everybody!

I’m back, rested and refreshed after a five-day getaway with my husband to a resort on the big island.  It was a fabulous trip — every once in awhile you just have to get off this little rock for a few days.  Now I’m back and getting caught up, busy busy busy getting ready for four weddings this August.  I’ve had a lot of questions from new clients lately about wedding websites, so I thought it was time to share some thoughts and insight about your online wedding identity.  Let’s talk wedding websites!

10 Ways to Save Money in Your Budget — And 10 Things You Shouldn’t Scrimp On!

July 19th, 2008 Sandy Malone

Hi there everybody!

It has been a crazy busy week for me here on the island. Everybody told me that I wouldn’t get anything accomplished because it’s our Patronales, the week-long festival of our island’s patron saint, but they were wrong!  I got lots done.  But I never got to go to the beach (boo hiss).  So I know I owe you guys a few good blog entries, and I thought I’d start with something fun.  You know how I love “top ten” lists.  This time we’re going to tackle 10 things you can scrimp on to save money, and 10 things you shouldn’t go cheap on.  Here we go!

July 17th, 2008 Sandy Malone

Hi there!

I’ve been getting tons of email from couples who have seen the new Travel & Leisure survey, and a few asked me where we got the information (obviously, they missed the Today Show too).  So I’m pasting the press release here below for everybody’s information:

Happy First Anniversary Weddings in Vieques!!! We Definitely Know How to Throw a Party to Celebrate!

July 9th, 2008 Sandy Malone

Dear Readers!

Monday was an exciting day for our little company — the first anniversary of Weddings in Vieques!  The company started last year, but our first wedding executed under the banner of Weddings in Vieques was on July 7, 2007 for Lynn Padgett and Brian Biesel on Sun Bay.  A quick update — Lynn is pregnant now with their first child and due in a few months!  Yay!  We’re going to have to build a “Babies of Weddings in Vieques” page soon because our Christmas Eve bride is expecting soon too!  Anyway, our first anniversary was a landmark for us, and we felt it was important to celebrate with all of our friends and vendors who work so hard with us to make every wedding in Vieques very, very special for our clients.

Holiday Weekend Destination Weddings — Are They a Good Idea?

July 2nd, 2008 Sandy Malone

Hola Mis Novias y Novios!  And hello to my brides and grooms who don’t know any Spanish too!

Today was absolutely gorgeous — high 80s with a stiff breeze.  I’m not even using AC as I sit here tonight writing this.  And usually I have to turn on the air when I’m working in my office at night just because all the lights heat things up.  Anyway, it looks like it’s going to be beautiful weather for the Robert Ramos and Andrea Eller’s destination wedding this weekend.  Yep — I have a 4th of July wedding.  Well, not exactly.  But the big rehearsal dinner beach party they’re throwing Friday night is on the 4th and the actual wedding is on the 5th.  It’s a 4th of July wedding nonetheless, and that inspired tonight’s topic.  Should you have a destination wedding weekend on a holiday?
